Adapt contracted with the Illinois Department of Human Services in 1991 to provide nursing home based psychiatric rehabilitation programs. Adapt of Illinois began serving 184 clients targeted by the Illinois Geropsychiatric Initiative at four (4) different nursing homes. During the first 5 years of operation Adapt services expanded in Illinois to include seven (7) nursing home programs across the state, and 223 clients.

Client Assistance Program

The Client Assistance Program (CAP) helps people with disabilities receive quality services by advocating for their interests and helping them identify resources, understand procedures, resolve problems, and protect their rights in the rehabilitation process, employement, and home services. Individuals with a disability who wants to receive or are receiving Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) services or Home Services are eligible for CAP assistance. CAP provides services through advocates and attorneys located throughout Illinois. All CAP services are free and confidential.
